I created Ledger Calendar for personal use and released it as a free, open-source budgeting tool. It brings the timing of everyday money into view, so you can plan around what comes in, what goes out, and what you’re working toward.

Runs on your computer

Ledger Calendar runs on Ubuntu, opens in your browser, and stores your data in a local SQLite database. It uses Python’s standard library, with no extra packages to install. Account balances are entered manually.

Get started

Download or clone the GitHub repository.
On Ubuntu with Python 3.10 or newer, open a terminal in the project folder.
Run ./run.sh to launch the app in your browser.
